Around twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the area, bringing powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Extensive Destruction
Residents witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around one thousand energy customers in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the state, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity expected across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
